The MERCUSYS MS128GP V1 is a 28-port Gigabit rackmount switch designed to expand wired networks and supply Power over Ethernet to compatible devices. It features 24 Gigabit PoE+ RJ45 ports, two Gigabit RJ45 uplink ports and two Gigabit SFP slots, providing flexible connectivity for IP cameras, wireless access points, IP phones and network infrastructure.
With a total 295 W PoE power budget, up to 30 W per PoE+ port and a 56 Gbps switching capacity, the MS128GP supports multi-device network deployments. Extend Mode, Isolation Mode, Priority Mode and PoE Auto Recovery add practical functionality for surveillance and business networks, while its metal housing supports desktop or rackmount installation.
Key Features
- 28 Gigabit Interfaces: 24 Gigabit PoE+ RJ45 ports, two Gigabit RJ45 uplink ports and two Gigabit SFP slots for flexible wired and fiber connectivity.
- 295 W PoE+ Power Budget: Supplies up to 30 W per PoE+ port to IEEE 802.3af/at compliant devices, subject to the total power budget.
- 250 m Extend Mode: Four long-range PoE+ ports support extended transmission distances up to 250 m, with speeds reduced to 10 Mbps when Extend Mode is enabled.
- Traffic Control Modes: Isolation Mode separates traffic on ports 1–12 and 13–24, while Priority Mode prioritizes ports 1–4 for applications such as video surveillance.
- PoE Auto Recovery: Automatically reboots PoE-powered devices that stop transmitting data for an extended period.
- Plug-and-Play Rackmount Design: No software configuration is required, with a durable metal housing and two cooling fans for installation in network environments.

Compatibility & Important Information
- PoE Compatibility: Ports 1–24 supply power to IEEE 802.3af/at compliant powered devices. The two Gigabit RJ45 uplink ports and two Gigabit SFP slots provide data connectivity without PoE output.
- PoE Power Planning: Each PoE+ port supports up to 30 W, but the combined power budget across all 24 PoE+ ports is 295 W. Device power requirements must be considered when connecting multiple powered devices.
- Extended Transmission: Extend Mode supports transmission up to 250 m on four long-range PoE+ ports, with speeds reduced to 10 Mbps. Actual transmission distance depends on cable quality.
- SFP Connectivity: The two Gigabit SFP slots support compatible 1000 Mbps SFP modules for fiber network connections.
- Network Management: This is a plug-and-play switch with hardware operating modes rather than a centrally managed switch.
- Installation: The unit uses two cooling fans and can be placed on a desktop or installed in a compatible equipment rack.
