The Apple M3 is now equipped with an impressive 25 billion transistors, surpassing the M2 by five billion. This new chip integrates the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, I/O, and more into a single System on a Chip (SoC). Using 3nm process technology, the Apple M3 offers high performance while maintaining power efficiency. The 8-Core CPU, with four performance cores and four efficiency cores, delivers up to 35 percent faster CPU performance than the M1 and supports up to 24GB of unified memory.

 

The M3 features a 10-Core GPU and incorporates Dynamic Caching, which allocates local memory usage in real time, leading to substantial performance enhancements for demanding professional apps and games. The MacBook Pro now supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing, creating highly realistic and physically accurate images by modeling light interaction with a scene. Additionally, the improved GPU brings hardware-accelerated mesh shading to the MacBook Pro, expanding geometry processing capabilities and enabling more visually complex scenes in games and graphics-intensive apps.
